Some fighting games leave new players hanging, offering a mediocre tutorial or, even worse, none at all. Not so with Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Namco is so proud of their bizarre tutorial, in fact, they've decided to give it its own trailer.

In most fighting games, new players can usually get buy by simply mashing buttons. That's all well and good to begin with, but what if you want to dig deeper into the game and actually learn how it's supposed to be played? In the case of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, you would simply head to the Fight Lab.

I'm going to give you a moment to let some of what you just saw sink in. In that single trailer (focused on the tutorial, mind you), we saw a robot get attacked by a chicken and an eagle. We also saw a flying sumo wrestler, a giant man, and a woman having her clothes punched off to reveal a bathing suit.

Only in the world of Tekken could all of that zaniness be considered a means by which to learn the game. To be fair, I'm all for it. I'd much rather learn the ins and outs of a fighting engine through fun and lighthearted tasks than having a text box dryly tell me what to press while I mercilessly pummel a static opponent. Instead of simply telling someone to press up to jump, having them perform a jump over raging poultry will likely give that lesson more staying power.

For more Tekken Tag Tournament 2 zaniness, look for the game to release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Sept. 11.
